Treat yourself with Vegusto: Recipe No. 263

Vegan Chees-Hörnli with vegan Ziger

Swiss cheese tradition meets vegan: Hörnli with cheese, fried onions and apple slices have been known and loved by many Swiss people since childhood. An aromatic and versatile taste experience!

Preparation

Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings.
Mix the rings in a bowl with the flour and salt and then fry them in oil over a medium heat for 10 minutes until they are golden brown.
Now keep the fried onions warm.

Remove the cores from the peeled apples, cut each into about 8 slices and cook them (covered) in hot water with the xylitol, for 10 minutes.
Mix the pizza sauce, the grated No Moo, Decent and the No Moo, Green in a large bowl.
Cook the Hörnli according to the packet instructions in salted water until they are al denteand then drain the cooking water.
Now add the vegan No Moo, cheese blend and mix everything together carefully.
Finally, season the Hörnli with salt and pepper.
Garnish the vegan Hörnli with the fried onions and sliced chives and serve them with the sliced warm apples.

As a side dish, we like to serve a vegan sausage, Bianca. Heat the sausage without the casing in steam for 5-10 minutes. Simply delicious!
